Excellance Freightliner M2 Recall 22V690: Vehicle Lights May Fail, Reducing Visibility and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V690, reported September 15, 2022, 3 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

An extra resistor was incorrectly installed on a circuit board in certain 2022 Excellance Freightliner M2 emergency vehicles. This can disrupt communication on the vehicle's CAN network and cause the vehicle's lighting to stop working.

If lighting fails, other drivers may not see your vehicle as well, which increases the risk of a crash. Because these are emergency vehicles, owners should take this seriously and get the repair scheduled promptly.

Dealers will replace the affected modules free of charge. You can also contact Excellance customer service at 1-800-882-9799 for help. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
