Terex TL Recall 22V674: Platform May Tip During Use, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 22V674, reported September 8, 2022, 194 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain aerial devices may have welds on the platform leveling cylinder support bosses that can crack. If a crack develops, the cylinder support pin can fail, allowing the platform to tip during use.

A platform that tips while in use raises the risk of injury to the operator and anyone on the platform. Owners should stop using a vehicle with this issue until it has been repaired, and should contact an authorized dealer as soon as possible.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer, who will install reinforcement plates to the boom tip platform leveling cylinder bosses. Some models will also have a hydraulic storage latch for the elevator replaced at no cost. Owners can call Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000 for more information, and can check their VIN for any open recalls.
