What this recall means for you
The automatic transmission's parking pawl may fail to engage when the shifter is put in Park. If that happens, the vehicle can roll away even though the driver believes it is secured.
A rollaway raises the risk of a crash, including with people, property, or other vehicles. Until the repair is done, apply the parking brake every time you park.
Authorized Nissan dealers will reprogram the transmission control module, and the engine control module on some Titan models, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. You can also contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or check your VIN for open recalls.
