Pierce F550 Recall 22V596: Electrical Fault May Cause Vehicle Lights to Fail

NHTSA campaign 22V596, reported August 8, 2022, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A wiring component in certain 2022 fire trucks may have been installed with an extra resistor on its circuit board. This can disrupt communication within the vehicle's electrical network and cause the exterior lighting to stop working.

When vehicle lighting is inoperative, visibility to other drivers and to you is reduced, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be alert to any lighting failures and treat them seriously.

Weldon will replace the affected electrical modules free of charge. Owners who have not received a notification letter can contact Pierce Manufacturing customer service at 1-888-974-3723, referencing recall number 74B320. You can also check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
