What this recall means for you
Certain motorcycles equipped with TKC80 tires may develop cracks longer than 3/16 inch in the tread grooves. These cracks mean the tires do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 119 for new pneumatic tires.
The cracks can lead to tread separation, where part of the tire tread detaches while riding. This raises the risk of a crash. If you own an affected bike, check the tread grooves for cracks and stop riding if you see any longer than 3/16 inch.
The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will replace the affected tires at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2022. For help, contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090, referencing recall numbers KTB2208 and HTB2207. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
