Bwise Dump Trailer Recall 22V587: Incorrect Weight Label Could Lead to Overloading and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V587, reported August 5, 2022, 76 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2023 Bwise dump trailers (EA10-10 and EA10-12 All Access models) have a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) label that is wrong. The label lists 4,995 lbs, but the correct rating is 6,000 lbs. The trailers also do not meet the federal certification requirements in 49 CFR Part 567.

Because the label understates the axle capacity, an owner relying on it could unintentionally overload the trailer. Overloading raises the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Dealers will mail new labels along with instructions for replacing the old one. Owner notification letters were mailed September 6, 2022. You can also contact Bwise customer service at 1-717-261-0922, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
