Audi SQ5 Recall 22V567: Rear Lid May Fail to Protect Occupants in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 22V567, reported August 3, 2022, 1 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rear lid on this vehicle may have been improperly assembled, because the joints that bond the metal panels together may not have been connected correctly. This can reduce the structural protection the rear end provides in a crash.

A rear lid that is not properly connected may decrease the vehicle's structural protection during a collision, which increases the risk of injury to occupants. Owners should take this recall seriously even though the defect affects a single vehicle.

The remedy is free: an authorized Audi dealer will replace the rear lid at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 30, 2022. You can also contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 and reference recall number 55M6, and you should check your VIN for any open recalls.
