Forest River Rockwood Recall 22V558: Rear Axle May Be Installed Backwards, Reducing Braking

NHTSA campaign 22V558, reported August 1, 2022, 244 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 Forest River Flagstaff and 2022-2023 Rockwood tent campers may have a rear non-powered axle assembly installed backwards. This can reduce the trailer's brake function.

A loss of brake function increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and have their camper checked as soon as possible.

Authorized dealers will inspect the axle and properly install it if necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2022. You can contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-642-8943 (recall number 10-1539) and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
