Isuzu FTR Recall 22V497: Truck May Roll Away When Parked in Park

NHTSA campaign 22V497, reported July 11, 2022, 4 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2022 Isuzu FTR trucks with an Allison 2500RDS (FVR) automatic transmission, the transmission is missing its parking pawl. The parking pawl is the part that locks the transmission when the shift lever is in Park.

Without that locking part, the truck may not hold in Park and could roll away even when the shifter is set to Park. A rolling truck increases the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected 2022 FTR, contact an authorized Isuzu dealer. The dealer will replace the transmission with a 2550RDS (FTR) unit at no cost to you. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on August 12, 2022, and you can call Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638 with questions. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
