What this recall means for you
The rearview camera on certain vehicles may not show the rear view image because of a software error. When the camera display does not work, the driver can see less of what is behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
This issue is covered by a recall that replaced an earlier recall with a newer NHTSA recall number. The remedy is a software update to the rearview camera, performed by dealers at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed in August 2022.
If you own this vehicle, check your VIN for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer to have the rearview camera software updated free of charge. You can also contact Mitsubishi Motors North America customer service at 1-88-648-7820 for help.
