What this recall means for you
Certain 2022 F-150 Lightning vehicles equipped with 20-inch or 22-inch all-season tires may not turn on the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light as intended. That means the driver may not be alerted when a tire is low on air. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 138 for tire pressure monitoring systems.
Low tire pressure can cause poor handling and a loss of vehicle control, which raises the risk of a crash. Because the warning light may stay off, you may not know a tire needs attention.
The remedy is free. A dealer can update the body control module software, or the update may be delivered over the air. Owner notification letters were mailed July 20, 2022. To check whether your vehicle is included, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 22C15).
