What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2022 Kia Sorento Hybrid and 2022 Sorento Plug-in Hybrid vehicles have front seat belt pretensioners that may explode when they deploy during a crash. The explosion can send metal fragments into the cabin, which could strike occupants and cause injury.

This recall expands and replaces an earlier recall (22V-127). Vehicles already repaired under that earlier recall will need the new remedy as well. Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap at no cost to you.
