Fccc S2G Recall 22V439: Engine May Shut Off Unexpectedly, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V439, reported June 20, 2022, 258 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019-2022 FCCC S2G and 2023 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 vehicles equipped with 8.8L LPG engines may have an engine control module (ECM) that sets a fault code. When this happens, the engine can shut down unexpectedly.

An unexpected engine shutdown can increase the risk of a crash, particularly if it occurs while the vehicle is in traffic or on the road. Owners should take this recall seriously.

The remedy is free of charge: an authorized dealer will update the ECM software. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. You can contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 (recall number FL942), and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
