Nissan Pathfinder Recall 22V420: Hood May Stay Unlatched and Pop Open While Driving

NHTSA campaign 22V420, reported June 13, 2022, 322,671 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Pathfinder vehicles have a secondary hood latch that can malfunction and stay in the unlatched, unsecured position even when the hood appears closed. The hood can then unexpectedly open while you are driving.

An open hood can block your view of the road and increase the risk of a crash. If you notice the hood is not fully secured, or if the hood has ever opened while driving, have the vehicle inspected promptly.

The repair is free at an authorized Nissan dealer, which will replace the bell crank assembly. Owner letters were mailed March 26, 2025. For help, contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, and check your VIN for open recalls.
