Ford Bronco Recall 22V411: Rear Door Child Lock May Fail, Letting Kids Open Door

NHTSA campaign 22V411, reported June 10, 2022, 53,103 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain four-door 2021-2022 Ford Bronco vehicles may have a passenger-side rear door that can be opened from inside the vehicle even when the child safety lock is switched to the "ON" position. The child safety lock is supposed to keep the door from being opened by a child passenger from inside.

Because a malfunctioning child safety lock can fail to keep the door secured, a child occupant could open the door while the vehicle is in motion or otherwise be at increased risk of injury.

Dealers will inspect the passenger-side rear child safety lock and latch and replace them if necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 28, 2022. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your VIN for any open recalls.
