Ford Mustang Recall 22V382: Rear camera, reverse light, and driver aids may shut off

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019-2020 Ford Mustangs with 5.0L engines and manual transmissions may have a powertrain control module that sends an unintended fault signal to the modules controlling the reverse camera, reverse light, and driver assist features. When this happens, all of these functions can be disabled.

A disabled rearview camera or reverse light reduces your view behind the vehicle, which raises the risk of a crash. Disabled driver assist features, including traction control, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, and cross traffic indicator, can also increase the risk of a crash.

Authorized Ford dealers will update the powertrain control module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 15, 2022. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 22S37, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
