Honda CR-V Recall 22V380: Fuel Gauge May Read Wrong, Risking Sudden Stalls

NHTSA campaign 22V380, reported May 26, 2022, 212 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A clip inside the fuel tank that holds the fuel tank absorber may not be secured properly and can come loose. If it detaches, the fuel gauge may show an inaccurate reading, so the tank could appear to have more fuel than it does.

The main danger is that the vehicle could unexpectedly run out of fuel and stall, which raises the risk of a crash. Drivers should watch for a fuel gauge that seems inconsistent with how far they have driven since the last fill-up.

Authorized Honda dealers will replace the fuel tank free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 5, 2022. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 and reference recall RCB.
