Cross Country Cross Country Trailer Recall 22V371: Trailer Coupler May Separate From Tow Vehicle, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V371, reported May 24, 2022, 72 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A welding defect in the trailer coupler, the part that connects the trailer to the tow vehicle's hitch, may cause the trailer to separate while in use. If the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle, the risk of a crash increases.

If you own one of the affected 2022 trailers, an authorized dealer will inspect the coupler and replace it as needed at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 1, 2022. You can also contact Cross Country's customer service at 1-800-344-4103 for help, and check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls.
