What this recall means for you
Certain digger derrick utility trucks may have relay connectors that were reattached to the wrong plug after a stability test. If the connections are incorrect, the hydraulic overload protection system will not work, and the operator may not know the equipment is being overloaded.
An overloaded boom or crane system can increase the risk of injury to operators and nearby workers. Owners should not assume the overload protection is working correctly until the issue has been addressed.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Altec will inspect the connectors and reattach them if necessary. Owners who received a notification letter mailed June 29, 2022 can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 and reference recall CSN 858. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
