Freightliner Cascadia Recall 22V339: Brakes and stability control can be switched off, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 22V339, reported May 16, 2022, 17 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2022 Freightliner Cascadia trucks, the antilock brakes (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) can be manually disabled. Because these systems can be turned off, the vehicle may not meet federal safety standards for air brake systems and electronic stability control on heavy vehicles.

If the antilock brakes or stability control are disabled, the truck may lose braking control or stability, which can increase the risk of a crash.

The manufacturer, Daimler Trucks North America, will repurchase affected vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed June 28, 2024. Owners can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall number FL932. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
