What this recall means for you
Certain 2022-2023 IC school buses may be missing a warning label that tells the driver the forward collision mitigation system is inoperative. The affected buses include some 2022 and 2023 RE models and some 2023 CE models built without a forward radar unit.
Without that label, the driver may not know the collision mitigation system is not working. Because the driver may assume the system will help prevent or reduce a crash, the risk of a collision is increased.
Navistar will provide a warning label and installation instructions at no charge. Owners were notified by mail on June 14, 2022, and can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 (recall number 22509). Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls and have the repair done at an authorized dealer.
