- Problem
- Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2018-2020 MBII school buses. The GenQ seats equipped with Type 2 seat belts may have been attached with insufficient hardware. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems", and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

- An insufficiently attached seat may detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

- No remedy has been established at this time. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 21, 2022. Owners may contact Micro Bird's customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 22-091-GUS.

What this recall means for you
Certain 2018-2020 Micro Bird MB II school buses may have GenQ seats with Type 2 seat belts that were attached using insufficient hardware. Because of this, the seats may not meet federal seating system and seat belt anchorage safety standards.
If a seat is not securely attached, it may detach during a crash, which increases the risk of injury to passengers. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 21, 2022.
