Renegade Vienna Recall 22V268: Overheating relay can cause fire in motorhomes

NHTSA campaign 22V268, reported April 20, 2022, 148 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021 motorhomes built on the Renegade chassis may have an electrical relay that can overheat because a stranded wire in its connector may not make proper contact. An overheated relay increases the risk of a fire in the vehicle.

Until the repair is done, the recall notice says a warning label will be placed by the Firefly touch screen. The label states: "Don't use Range, Microwave or Air Conditioning unit unless the coach is powered by shore or Generator." Follow that instruction to reduce the risk. The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will remove the electrical relay and reconnect wiring as necessary, and will add the warning label. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on April 29, 2022. You can also contact Kibbi's customer service at 1-574-966-0196, and check your VIN for open recalls.
