Audi A3 Recall 22V224: Wrong LATCH Anchor Marking Can Lead to Poorly Secured Child Seats

NHTSA campaign 22V224, reported April 6, 2022, 466 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 Audi A3 and S3 sedans have child seat anchorage fitting sleeves marked with a different symbol than the one shown in the owner's manual. This mismatch can confuse owners during child seat installation, so a seat may not be properly secured.

An improperly secured child seat increases the risk of injury to a child in a crash. The vehicles also do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Dealers will replace all four fitting sleeves free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 24, 2022. You can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
