Jayco Travel Trailer White Hawk Recall 22V212: Loose Power Inlet Wiring Can Cause Electrical Arcing and Fire

NHTSA campaign 22V212, reported March 31, 2022, 196 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain trailers have a 50-amp shore power inlet whose lug bolts may have been made from metal that is too hard. Because the bolts cannot be tightened properly, the wiring connection can work loose.

A loose wiring connection can cause an electrical arc or short circuit, which increases the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and avoid relying on the shore power connection until it has been checked.

Authorized dealers will inspect the power inlet and replace it if necessary, at no cost to the owner. You can contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, referencing recall number 9901575. Also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
