Keystone Cougar Recall 22V209: Tires May Rub Outrigger, Risking Tire Failure

NHTSA campaign 22V209, reported March 31, 2022, 513 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2019-2022 Keystone Cougar travel trailers, the clearance between the tires and the outrigger may be too tight. The tires can contact the outrigger and become damaged.

Damaged tires can fail while the trailer is in use, which can cause a loss of vehicle control and raises the risk of a crash.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer: the dealer will notch the existing outrigger and install an additional outrigger between the two tires to provide proper clearance. Owners who have questions can contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369, referencing recall number 22-430. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is affected.
