Lance 1685 Recall 22V201: Wiring Can Overheat and Cause Fire in Travel Trailers

NHTSA campaign 22V201, reported March 28, 2022, 18 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A data cable in certain 2022 travel trailers may be routed through the cold water inlet, where it can rest on the burner box of the electric water heater. Over time, this contact can cause the cable to short.

A shorted data cable raises the risk of a fire in the trailer. Owners should take this seriously and avoid ignoring the recall.

Dealers will reroute the data cable free of charge. Owners who have not received a notification letter, which was mailed April 22, 2022, can contact Lance Camper customer service at 1-661-949-3322. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
