Forest River Surveyor Recall 22V185: Cracked Furnace Burn Chamber Can Leak Carbon Monoxide

NHTSA campaign 22V185, reported March 25, 2022, 74 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 Surveyor travel trailers may have a fresh air intake tube that is too short. The tube can detach, which can cause the furnace burn chamber to crack.

A cracked burn chamber can expose the trailer's interior to carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless gas that can cause serious injury. Owners should take this recall seriously.

The remedy is free. Dealers will install a longer fresh air intake vent tube at no charge. Owners who received the notification letter mailed April 12, 2022 can contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-642-3119, Option 2, and should check their vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
