Arcimoto FUV Recall 22V175: Brake Lights May Stay On Constantly, Confusing Other Drivers

NHTSA campaign 22V175, reported March 23, 2022, 541 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The brake pressure switch can corrode after exposure to road salt and de-icing chemicals. When this happens, the brake lights may stay illuminated all the time, even when the brakes are not being applied.

Constantly lit brake lights can confuse other drivers about when you are slowing or stopping, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners were notified by mail beginning May 27, 2022, and should contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to schedule a service appointment. The brake pressure switch will be inspected and dielectric grease will be added to the connection to prevent the brake lights from staying on. The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
