What this recall means for you
This recall covers one 2018 emergency vehicle with a specific engine and PTO configuration. When the parking brake is applied, the automatic transmission is in Drive or Reverse, and the stationary PTO switch is engaged, engine speed can rise enough to overcome the parking brake's ability to hold the vehicle.
If this happens, the vehicle can move unintentionally, which increases the risk of a crash.
The manufacturer, Marion Body Works, will update the Engine Control Module to enable a PTO neutral interlock. The repair is free. Because the vehicle is within the manufacturer's control, no owner notification letter will be mailed. Owners can contact Marion Body Works customer service at 1-715-754-5261, referencing recall number 19V-841, and can check their VIN for open recalls.
