Heartland Trail Runner Recall 22V170: Loose Power Inlet Wiring Can Cause Electrical Fire

NHTSA campaign 22V170, reported March 21, 2022, 129 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The 50-amp shore power inlet on certain travel trailers may have lug bolts made of metal that is too hard. Because the bolts cannot be tightened properly, the wiring connection can work loose.

A loose wiring connection can cause an electrical arc or short circuit, which increases the risk of a fire. If you own an affected trailer, have it checked as soon as possible. Authorized dealers will inspect the power inlet and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. You can also contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
