What this recall means for you
A software error can disable the rear turn signals, hazard warning lights, and back-up lights on these vehicles. When those lights are out, other drivers may not see your vehicle clearly or know you are turning, stopping, or backing up, which raises the risk of a crash.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, the fix is a software update to the rear lighting system. Dealers will perform the update free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed in May 2022. To check whether your vehicle is included, look up your VIN for open recalls and, if you have questions, call Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372, referencing recall number 2022040013.
