Hino NJ7A Recall 22V128: Low Air Pressure Can Apply Parking Brake Unexpectedly

NHTSA campaign 22V128, reported March 4, 2022, 141 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A fastener on the air brake system's charge pipe, where it connects to the air compressor, may not have been tightened properly. This can allow air pressure in the system to drop.

When air pressure runs low, the parking brake may apply automatically while the vehicle is in use, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Authorized Hino dealers will tighten the charge pipe flare nut at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 28, 2022, and you can contact Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390 with questions. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
