Chevrolet Corvette Recall 22V091: Rear Axle Bearings May Be Missing, Causing Power Loss

NHTSA campaign 22V091, reported February 17, 2022, 22 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2021 and 2022 Chevrolet Corvettes may have rear half-shaft assemblies that are missing one or more ball bearings. If a bearing is absent, the vehicle can suddenly lose drive power while driving.

An unexpected loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be alert to any sudden loss of acceleration and take the vehicle to a dealer promptly if it occurs.

Dealers will replace the left or right rear half-shaft assemblies, as necessary, at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 4, 2022. You can also contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and check your VIN for open recalls.
