What this recall means for you
The airbag (SRS) warning light software in certain vehicles is programmed incorrectly. As a result, the warning light may malfunction and come on intermittently, even when there is no airbag fault.
The real danger is that a warning light that lights up for no reason can hide a genuine airbag system failure. If the airbags have a problem and the light does not alert you, the airbags may not work as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy is free. An authorized dealer will update the restraints control module (RCM) software at no charge. Owners can contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
