Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Recall 22V042: Wheel sensor wiring can be damaged, hurting braking and stability control

NHTSA campaign 22V042, reported January 28, 2022, 172 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front wheel speed sensor wiring harness on certain 2021 AMG GT Black Series vehicles may be the wrong length. Under some driving conditions, the harness can be damaged.

A damaged harness can impair the systems that help keep the car stable and under control, including stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. That loss of function increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free: an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace the wiring harness at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed March 18, 2022. You can also call Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
