Toyota Venza Hybrid Recall 22V033: Rear turn signals and hazard lights may dim or fail

NHTSA campaign 22V033, reported January 26, 2022, 41,544 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Water can get into the rear turn signal LED lights on certain 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrids. Condensation can then form on the circuit board and cause a short circuit. This can dim or stop the rear turn signals and hazard flashers, making the vehicle harder for other drivers to see and raising the risk of a crash. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.

Authorized Toyota dealers will replace both rear turn signal LED bulbs and replace the rear turn signal light assembly where needed, at no cost to you. Interim owner notification letters were mailed March 18, 2022, and remedy parts are expected to be available by June 30, 2022.

Contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 with questions. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and schedule the free repair with an authorized dealer as soon as parts are available.
