STE Wurl Turner Recall 21V959: Chassis Welds Can Crack, Risking Frame Separation

NHTSA campaign 21V959, reported December 10, 2021, 87 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain trailers have attachment welds on the bottom of the chassis that may develop stress fractures over time. If the cracks grow, the frame can separate from the chassis, which increases the risk of a crash.

Frame separation is a serious safety hazard because a trailer that comes apart from its chassis can lose control or detach while in use. Owners should treat this recall as a priority and not wait for a problem to appear.

The remedy is free. STE Service Centers will replace the front frame structure at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022, and you can contact STE customer service at 1-608-368-9663. You should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
