What this recall means for you
The software in the vehicle's Integrated Central Control Unit (ICU) may be incompatible with the vehicle. If that happens, the headlights and/or taillights can stop working. Reduced lighting makes it harder for the driver to see and for other drivers to see the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
Authorized Hyundai dealers have updated the ICU software on affected vehicles at no cost to the owner. Hyundai reports that all affected vehicles have already been repaired, so owners will not receive a notification letter by mail.
If you own a 2022 Tucson, check whether your vehicle is covered by entering your VIN for open recalls, and contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 with questions. Reference Hyundai recall number 214.
