Tesla Model Y Recall 21V912: Suspension Knuckles May Crack, Causing Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 21V912, reported November 21, 2021, 826 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2022 Model Y vehicles may have front or rear suspension knuckles that can fracture. When a knuckle breaks, the suspension links connected to it can separate from the vehicle.

If suspension links separate, the vehicle can lose stability and control, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should treat any unusual handling, noises, or steering changes seriously.

Tesla Service will inspect the knuckles and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022. To check whether your vehicle is included, contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752, and check your VIN for open recalls.
