What this recall means for you
Certain 2021-2022 Forest River Cherokee travel trailers have an incorrect tire size and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the Federal Placard, the label that states the vehicle's loading limits. The wrong information means the trailer could be loaded beyond its safe capacity, which fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 on tire selection and rims.
An overloaded trailer can lose control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should not rely on the current placard for load limits until the correction is made.
Forest River will mail owners a new, corrected Federal Placard at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed November 29, 2021. To get your replacement, contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-260-499-2100 and reference recall number 17A-1439. You can also check your VIN for any open recalls.
