NHTSA campaign 21V871, reported November 10, 2021, 22 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 Ram 1500 vehicles may have been built with incompatible heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. As a result, the windshield defrosting and defogging system may not work for the driver. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 103 for windshield defrosting and defogging systems.

An inoperable defroster or defogger can reduce visibility through the windshield in certain weather conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.

FCA US, LLC will repurchase affected vehicles free of charge. Owners can contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 for more information. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
