Cottrell 2-CAR Carrier Recall 21V863: Missing Reflectors Can Make Carrier Harder to See

NHTSA campaign 21V863, reported November 5, 2021, 40 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Four side-rear reflex reflectors are missing on these car carrier trailers, so the vehicle does not meet federal lighting requirements for reflective devices. Reflectors help other drivers see the vehicle's side and rear, especially at night or in low light.

Without those reflectors, other drivers may not notice the carrier in time, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should stop relying on the reduced visibility and arrange the free repair as soon as possible.

Cottrell will provide a reflex reflector kit at no cost. Owners who received the recall letter mailed February 2, 2022 can contact Cottrell customer service at 1-866-299-2690. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls before you drive.
