Cruiser RV Hitch Recall 21V802: Wrong weight label on trailer may lead to overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 21V802, reported October 14, 2021, 264 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The certification label on these trailers lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). The label does not match the rating the trailer is supposed to have, so the trailer does not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 for wheels and rims.

Because the label gives wrong axle weight information, an owner could load the trailer beyond what its axles are rated to carry. An overloaded trailer raises the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Cruiser will mail new labels to owners, and authorized dealers will replace the labels at no charge. Owners can call Cruiser customer service at 1-574-206-7920, and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
