RAM 2500 Recall 21V798: Electrical Short Can Cause Fire, Even With Engine Off

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy-duty Ram pickups and cab chassis vehicles with the Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine may have an electrical short in the Solid State Intake Heater Grid Relay. The short can cause a vehicle fire whether the ignition is on or off, which increases the risk of injury.

Until the vehicle has been remedied, park it outside of buildings or structures and away from other vehicles. At an authorized dealer, the Solid State Intake Heater Grid Relay will be inspected and replaced if needed. If the related earlier recall (FCA US Recall ID Y08, NHTSA Recall ID 21V-163) is still open on your vehicle, insulating material will also be applied to the relay after inspection. This recall has been superseded by 23V060, so also check your VIN for open recalls.
