Forest River Puma Recall 21V784: Missing Tank Vent Can Let Gas Build Up and Cause Fire

NHTSA campaign 21V784, reported October 8, 2021, 44 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some travel trailers may have a black wastewater-holding tank that is missing its ventilation pipe. Without that vent, methane gas from the tank can build up inside the trailer.

If that gas meets an ignition source, it can cause a fire. Owners should take this seriously and have the trailer checked as soon as possible.

Authorized dealers will properly vent the black wastewater-holding tank at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2021, and you can contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-642-0606. Also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
