Cadillac CT6 Recall 21V759: Parking Lights Too Bright, Can Blind Other Drivers

NHTSA campaign 21V759, reported September 29, 2021, 181 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016-2017 Cadillac CT6 vehicles have park and position lights that may be excessively bright. The brightness does not meet federal lighting requirements under FMVSS 108, which governs lamps and reflective devices on vehicles.

The excessive brightness may affect the vision of other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash. If you drive one of these vehicles, you should take this seriously even though the problem is with the lighting itself rather than the car's ability to stop or steer.

The remedy is free. Dealers will install right and left side in-line headlight jumper harnesses at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 3, 2021. You can contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, and you should check your VIN for any open recalls on this vehicle.
