What this recall means for you
Certain Volvo 9700 buses from model years 2008 through 2015 may have headlights that do not produce the correct amount of light. The headlights can be either too bright or too dim, which means they do not meet the federal lighting standard (FMVSS 108). Headlights that are too bright or too dim can reduce your ability to see the road and be seen by others, which increases the risk of a crash.
Volvo Bus will fix the problem for free. Authorized dealers will replace the headlight assembly or the bulbs at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 1, 2023. If you have questions, you can contact Volvo Bus customer service at 1-866-870-2046, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
