What this recall means for you
Certain vehicles have seat belt automatic locking retractors that may deactivate early. When this happens, the belt may not hold a child restraint system securely in place, and the vehicles fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 for occupant crash protection.
An unsecured child seat can increase the risk of injury to a child during a crash. If you have a child passenger, check that the child restraint is firmly held in place after installation and make sure the seat belt locks as expected.
Dealers will inspect the seat belt retractors and replace them as needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2021. You can also contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number Y61), and check your VIN for any open recalls.
