Honda CB500X Recall 21V690: Brake Fluid Leak Can Reduce Braking Power

NHTSA campaign 21V690, reported September 2, 2021, 262 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain motorcycles have excess grease in the anti-lock brake (ABS) modulator. Debris can collect in the grease and get stuck in a check valve, which can cause a brake fluid leak.

A brake fluid leak can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash. If you ride one of the affected motorcycles, take it to an authorized Honda dealer, where the ABS modulator lot number will be checked and the modulator replaced if needed, at no cost to you. Owners were notified by letter mailed November 12, 2021, and you can contact Honda Powersports customer service at 1-866-784-1870 with questions. You can also check your VIN for any open recalls.
